Network marketing impacting retail markets By Dr. Keith B. Laggos
Last issue I asked, “What’s new?” I commented on the increasing number of companies who offer a nutritional beverage/juice and energy drinks. I stated it was about time for the network marketing industry to find new products and explained that the network marketing industry is renown for introducing innovative products. Although I mentioned that these juice and energy drinks were superior to those in the retail market, I failed to explain the impact that they are having on the retail market. Just because I would like to see new innovations, it does not mean that there is anything wrong with any of the products we now offer. Quite the opposite is true.

Don't "Do A Little Bit Of Everything" With Your Website
Years ago, Peter Drucker wrote: "Concentration is the key to economic results. Economic results require that managers concentrate their efforts on the smallest number of activities that will produce the largest amount of revenue...No other principle is violated as constantly today as the basic principle of concentration...Our motto seems to be: let's do a little bit of everything."

Five Characteristics of Successful Distributors By Elaine Cayron
Network marketers have to invite people to local meetings at hotels or living rooms and handed out company literature. Marketers before were excellent storytellers. You needed to be a dynamic, attractive storyteller with a charismatic personality to become a leader. Personal computer introduced average ordinary people to a powerful world, they had denied access to in the past. People were allowed to be more efficient and get more done. But it took some time before the computer made a difference in the network marketing industry.

Federal and state multilevel marketing and anti-pyramid statutes are components of a comprehensive consumer protection umbrella. These laws are designed to protect individuals from being defrauded through illegitimate programs which lure participants with the promise of easy money by compensating them from the investments of additional participants rather than from legitimate product sales. These programs have been called "Ponzi schemes," "airplane plans," "pyramids," "chain letters," and many other names. Although known in the United States only during the twentieth century, such programs have cost their participants hundreds of millions of dollars. Federal and state regulatory agencies have sought to proscribe such illegal activity in multiple ways, including the use of anti-pyramid, mail fraud, business opportunity, franchise, lottery, and securities laws.

This I promise you... Here's a promise you can make and keep - to anyone looking at your business.
Through the verbage of MLM Mentor, MLM Consultant, MLM Software with all the vital MLM espertise, some tend to forget the most valuable MLM asset: You!
"I can show you how to do network marketing: namely, 1) find new customers and 2) find recruits."
Isn't that what you bring to the table? Isn't it the value you add?
Yes, the company offers the network marketing opportunity. But you can offer the training to show them how to do it - a picnic table of methods, online and off.
And you don't have to be an expert in all of the tools and methods yourself. You need to know what and where the resources are, be familiar with them so you know they're genuine, and let your new babies know. You can take them by the hand for the reaching out methods you know well, and for others, encourage them to work with people in the group that like doing those.

The Law of Dissatisfaction: How To Motivate Prospects By Jerry Bader (c) 2007
The 7%-38%-55% Communication Rule
Dr. Albert Mehrabian, Professor Emeritus of Psychology, UCLA is
best known for his 7%-38%-55% Rule that states 55% of
communication is attributable to non-verbal behaviors like body
language and facial expressions; that 38% of communication is
attributable to voice including volume, tone, pitch, cadence,
and quality; and only 7% of communication is attributable to the
words used.
Despite this persuasive evidence, companies continue to pile on
the Web-text in the vain hope that search engines will index it
and that someone might actually read it, even though the reality
is 70% of website visitors merely scan for headlines, bulleted
points and captions.

For SEO Beginners: Twelve Definitions You Need To Know By Mike Tekula (c) 2007
SEO is a trade that exists solely on the internet, and even then

"expert opinion." Plenty of it blowing around these days as
search maintains position as one of the most important
marketplaces in the modern business world. Many DIY webmasters
will end up searching for blog entries, articles, informational
web sites, etc to help get them up to speed. The problem is that
in most cases certain key terms are flung around like household
names while the people doing the flinging are way out of touch
with the average web browser. What some of us don't realize is
that not everyone knows even the basics of SEO.

How to Build a Successful Direct Selling Company By Jay E. Leisner, Sylvina Consulting
In the United States, almost two million new businesses are started each year. People with good ideas and good intentions decide to put their best foot forward. They open their doors for business and hope their businesses stay alive and grow.
There are several hundred direct selling businesses that are launched each year. Some of them are funded well at their birth, others are launched with bridge funding, and many begin with a critical shortage of investment capital at the outset.
It's a rough world out there. Half of new businesses don't make it past their first year and most don't celebrate a 5th anniversary. The odds don't scare many away, so don't let them scare you away. A healthy dose of fear, however, can be a good motivator to do the right things to increase your odds of staying in business.
Here are some smart things you can do when building your direct selling company:

After-Sale Follow Through A Juggling Act That Pays Off By Tony Alessandra
After-sale follow through is a never ending balancing act. It requires communication, a sensitivity to the other person's needs and a commitment to grow together. As a salesperson, you need to exert an extra measure of effort to ensure the continuation of your performance. Unlike an act, however, your client can walk out on you anytime he feels dissatisfied or doesn't like your performance. So visualize yourself as a command performer for your customers and you'll find they appreciate you more because of it. This will undoubtedly result in numerous encores with your current clients and their referrals.

What's the Story on PageRank? By Donald Nelson
A lot of website owners are upset or puzzled when their website's Google PageRank goes down or does not rise. Is it worth losing any sleep over changes in that green line and number that appear in a Google tool bar at the top of your browser? I think that excessive worry or thought about PageRank is not constructive, and it is better to put it all in perspective by taking a rational look at what PageRank is and what it is not.

Using Social Media Marketing to Promote Your Specialist Information Website By Miles Galliford
Before I get started, it is worth defining social media. It has become a widely used and abused term that means different things to different people.
My definition of social media is:
'online technologies and practices that people use to share their opinions, insights and experiences with each other. Information can be shared as text, images, audio or video via blogs, message boards, wikis, RSS, podcasts and social networking sites'.
At the heart of social media is the ability of individuals to interact with other people so that they feel involved and part of a community. A big part of this phenomenon is the activity of finding, sharing and recommending products, services, events and experiences to like-minded people. This is where social media crosses over with marketing. (c) 2007 sitepronews

allure. n. The power to attract; enticement.
Do you typically get a glazed look when you tell someone what you do?
Or when you tell someone what you market?

Have you ever wondered if you could learn a few words to say that would cause the person to pause after hearing what you market, reflect a moment, and say: "Gimme that!"

Accounting System Tips For Your Home Business By Gordon Milton
A lot of home businesses fail because they lack the necessary financial system to monitor the flow of their money. Typically, home based business owners dislike keeping their books of accounts, thinking that as long as money keeps coming in, they will be alright. Unfortunately, things are more complicated in relation to your business. If you want to remain in business long term, running an accounting system to keep track of your financial flow for your own peace of mind and for taxation purposes, is unavoidable. Note that if you do not keep track of your income, sooner or later you could be in serious trouble with the tax department.

A Dollar and Some Ambition by Jim Rohn
Each of us has two distinct choices to make about what we will do with our lives. The first choice we can make is to be less than we have the capacity to be. To earn less. To have less. To read less and think less. To try less and discipline ourselves less.
These are the choices that lead to an empty life. These are the choices that, once made, lead to a life of constant apprehension instead of a life of wondrous anticipation.

MLM LAWS IN 50 STATES STATE: MLM LAW/NETWORK MARKETING LAW/DIRECT SELLING LAW BY JEFFREY A. BABENER
"State MLM Laws - Important to Understand.
Although the federal government, through the SEC, FTC and U.S. Postal Service, has played an active role over the years in regulating MLM activity, the vast majority of regulatory action has come at the state level. Therefore, it is important to understand the patchwork of state MLM laws, both as they exist today and as they continue to evolve over time. Working with these laws is fundamental to the operation of an MLM business by a company or by a network marketing distributor."

Mastermind Your Way To Home Business Success
One of the secrets to succeeding at home-based business is to surround yourself with others who will elevate you to heights you could never reach on your own. It’s critical to surround yourself with people who know more than you do, who think differently than you do, and have access to people and resources you don’t.
Benjamin Franklin was the father of the mastermind. He gathered together a small group of local tradesmen and together they created the first library, a university, hospital, firefighting brigade, insurance company and militia, all the while building each other’s respective businesses.

It's a no-cost way for you to determine what's been written online about both you and your competition, as well as to track any number of other terms that will aid you in your market research efforts. You can also use this system as a way to research market trends and market statistics and determine "what's hot" in your target market to give you topic ideas for future articles, blog posts, and product and service offerings.

How To Compete With The Big Boys By Jerry Bader
Author Jerry Bader writes, "Every business needs to do everything it can to stand out from the crowd, to differentiate itself from the competition. This is a major challenge for companies that sell substantially the same thing as their competitors.
The average business does not have the resources of a multinational corporation that often uses its substantial marketing muscle to buy market share or to drive competition out of the marketplace. Big business also uses its deep pockets to flood various media with advertising, making them a pervasive presence."

Make Your Online Store Easy To Use From Ana Rincon
Your Guide to Online Business / Hosting.
When creating an online storefront, remember that “usability” will greatly affect your sales. In this context, usability refers to the ease with which customers can accomplish a task on your site -- for example, finding a product, filling out an order form, checking shipping costs, etc. If everything else is equal, the site with better usability will sell more products. I’ve experienced this myself; if a site is hard to navigate or the check-out process is clumsy, I may leave without buying. I certainly won’t bookmark the site for a future purchase.

Win By Making The Other's "Case" First By Bob Burg
One of the most effective ways to positively and gently "disarm" a person with whom you are having a disagreement, plus win them over to your side of the issue, is to first, point out their side of the story. In other words, discover and vocalize to them, the areas in which you agree with them - that is, where you not only can understand how they feel, but where their view actually makes sense. When doing this you, in essence, say to them, "Hey, there are two sides to every story. You also have a reasonable argument - you have a view that is very worthy of consideration."
Bob Burg (http://www.burg.com) speaks on "Endless Referrals" and "Positive Persuasion." He is author of "Endless Referrals: Network Your Everyday Contacts Into Sales" and "Winning Without Intimidation: The Art of Positive Persuasion." Sunrider - More Than Two Decades of Success MLM.com's 50 Most Influential Companies
Today Sunrider sells product in more than 30 countries through millions of distributors, and has nearly 6,000 retail outlets in China alone. This is an amazing story for a company that started in 1982 as the dream of two people, Dr. Tei Fu Chen and Dr. Oi-Lin Chen.
The company we know as Sunrider International is the direct successor to Natural Life, a small herbal company in Orem, Utah. Utah County has become a hub of herbal manufacturing and Direct Sales companies: Natures Sunshine, Enrich, Nuskin, Usana, TwinLabs, Neways, 4life, to name a few. So it was more that a touch of fate when Tei Fu Chen, who had always been interested in herbs ability to “regenerate” the body, decided to move to Orem when he immigrated from Taiwan in the late 1970’s.
By 1982, Tei Fu Chen was working with Natural Life when he decided it was time to put into action his plan to create the company of his dreams. His first move was a good one. He purchased Natural Life and renamed it Sunrider. Even though Natural Life was small, it was stable, and had an established distribution network. this gave Chen a place to start<.> For the first couple of years, Dr. Dean Black, the President of Natural Life, stayed to help with the transition of Natural Life to Sunrider.

You Will Know A Tree By Its Fruit! - Picking the "Ripe" MLM
Reported by ezinearticles.com April 5, 2007. "Per the Wikipedia, in a typical multi-level marketing (MLM), or network marketing arrangement, individuals are associated with a parent company as an independent contractor, or franchisee, and are compensated based on their sales of products or service, as well as the sales achieved by those they bring into the business. This is like many franchise companies where royalties are paid from the sales of individual franchise operations to the franchiser, as well as to an area or region manager. Fortunately in the orchard of MLM’s, one rotten apple does not necessarily to spoil the entire barrel. Setting the flawed aside, what are the marks of a good MLM, or network marketing company? It’s easier to discern than you think, so ask yourself the following:"
